Description
Job Summary:
An exempt position responsible for managing the daily operations of assigned Clinics to promote effective, efficient, and safe patient care. Responsible for the development and implementation of standardized processes that prioritize high quality delivery of care, optimal patient satisfaction, employee engagement, and fiscal responsibility. Collaborates successfully with stakeholders throughout the organization to deliver integrated health care, integrate technological innovations, navigate an increasingly complex regulatory environment, and implement health system initiatives.

Essential Functions:
1. Clinic Development and Growth
Collaborates with Medical Group Administration on development and implementation of department's mission, goals, policies, procedures, budget, quality assurance plan, performance improvement, and work standards to optimize efficiency, quality patient care, and fiscal responsibility. Compiles data on patient outcomes, quality assurance results, patient experience, appointment patterns, employee engagement, budget/goal achievement, and performance/productivity and prepares reports for administration. Analyzes data for improvement opportunities and implements action plans.

2. Hospital and Medical-Group Liaison
Collaborates with organization leaders and providers to achieve effective delivery of a variety of related services ranging from inpatient care to outpatient follow-up care. Communicates effectively with Quality, Infection Prevention, Materials, Pharmacy, Risk and Compliance, Human Resources, and other hospital departments to meet organization standards and policies streamline clinic operations and maintain a safe workplace.

3. Clinic Operations
Oversees clinical care, ensuring compliance with established regulations and standards including quality assurance and medical record documentation. Ensures clinic staff comply with HIPAA privacy laws and follow organization procedures regarding release of and request for medical records. Works collaboratively with clinic leads to ensure successful day-to-day clinical operations and assists on the floor as needed.

4. Human Resources
Analyzes staffing patterns and collaborates with clinic leaders to align clinical staff scheduling with clinic needs. Oversees all hiring, training, supervision, and evaluating of personnel. Collaborates with Human Resources and oversees all clinic recruiting, selecting, orienting/training, and evaluating nursing staff. Ensures all personnel adhere to Patient Experience hospital policy & that all contact with the public is conducted in a polite, concerned & efficient manner.

5. Patient Registration
Supervises patient registrations to ensure all patients are scheduled and registered correctly and efficiently. Communicates effectively with Patient Financial Services to ensure all information is provided to clinic billers on a timely basis & works with clinic billers to resolve problems. Supervises collection of monies and manages petty cash. Reviews daily clinic admissions for accuracy & sees that they are corrected in a timely manner. Assists in front desk duties as needed.

6. Electronic Medical Record
Oversees clinic EMR scheduling templates. Monitors provider notes for completion, working with Medical Group administration on plan of action when necessary. Monitors EMR patient scheduling, web portal, and any other patient access interface tools. Collaborates with information technology informatics team on maintaining and upgrading the clinic EMR system.

Job Requirements:
Minimum Education:
Required: BS – Bachelor of Science

Minimum Work Experience:
Required: Minimum one year supervisory-level experience, preferably in medical practice setting.

Required Licenses: BLS

Functional Demands:
Working Conditions: Combination of office, exam, and other clinical settings. Frequent exposure to communicable diseases, biohazards, toxic substances, medicinal preparations, and other conditions common to a clinic setting. Frequent stress caused by multitasking, managing personnel, and level of responsibility. Must be on-site at the SJH campus or other facilities to fulfill the responsibilities of this role.

Physical Requirements: Requires standing and walking for extensive periods of time. Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 50 pounds.
