Description
Job Summary:
Works with clinicians and administrators within the organization to maintain compliance to CMS/DNV standards, support ISO9001 approach to Quality Management Systems and help foster a culture of continuous improvement.

Essential Functions:
1. Accreditation
·Maintains current knowledge of the DNV-GL, State of Wyoming and CMS standards.
·Support compliance with regulations and standards through review and revision of operational processes.
·Facilitates continuous survey readiness activities.
·Guides the organization through survey processes and findings.

2. ISO9001 Certification
·Has functional knowledge of ISO9001 quality management system requirements.
·Provides relevant education to staff and leadership about ISO9001.
·Manages processes that maintain ISO9001 certification, e.g. internal auditing program and documentation control.

3. National Quality Programs
·Support compliance with Federal quality program requirements by: completing required data collection and submissions (including chart abstraction) and meeting other IQR/OQR reporting requirements.
·Help St. John’s maintain or improve performance in federal quality programs by monitoring and communicating performance on quality measures, providing education on publicly reported measures, contributing to or leading internal improvement activities.
·Increase external recognition of St. John’s quality of care by collecting and submitting data/surveys to nationally recognized quality review organizations.
·Monitors federal Quality program requirements and helps SJH Quality program stay aligned with these requirements.

4. Performance and Process Improvement
·Implement standard performance and process improvement methods.
·Integrate use of safety science principles into process improvement in order to proactively mitigate risk.
·Apply project management methods.
·Conducts FMEAs or other risk analysis tools as assigned, including the development, implementation, and evaluation of associated plans. Improves care delivery systems, and system reliability through identification of areas that are high risk and problem prone.
·Assists departments/committees with monitoring, evaluation, and PI initiatives. Mentors individuals and teams in improvement methods, project management, change management, group dynamics and planning methods. Educates all staff and medical staff on the performance improvement models and tools. Understands and is able to clearly articulate PI plan, processes and tools. Assists staff and medical staff in application of appropriate PI tools.
·Develops and performs physician and clinical education material and tools on evidence-based practices surrounding quality initiative/project, core measures and public reportable metrics. Identifies and removes barriers to project success or escalates to leadership when appropriate.

5. Proficient with Use of Data to Support Improvement
·Understands principles of data analysis related to quality (trend analysis, statistical process control)
·Relates data to improvement quality assurance and performance improvement activities.
·Develops methods for monitoring quality performance through data, includes working with relevant stakeholders to develop new reporting processes as well as conducting ad hoc analysis of available data with MS Excel.
·Works with IT partners to support Quality data applications including Midas and Statit.

6. Professionalism
·Integrate ethical standards into healthcare quality practice.
·Support organizational Patient Safety program and culture of safety.
·Promote stakeholder engagement and interdisciplinary work.
·Communicate effectively with different audiences to achieve quality goals.

Job Requirements:
Minimum Education:
Required: BSN
Preferred: Masters of Nursing, Administration or Business

Minimum Work Experience:
Required: Hospital experience of at least 3-5 years in a clinical or administrative role. Experience in performance improvement projects. Demonstrated competence navigating software tools.
Preferred: Working knowledge of CMS and/or DNV standards. Quality/Regulatory work experience of at least 3 years.

Required Licenses: Current RN license with the authority to practice in the state of Wyoming.

Functional Demands:
Working Conditions: Hospital office setting. Small office and stressful situations. Must be on-site at the SJH campus or other facilities to perform the responsibilities of this role.

Physical Requirements: 50% of the time sitting, intermittent standing and walking, 50% of the time at the computer. Ability to bend, stoop, and reach. Must possess sight/hearing senses to meet to requirements of this position
