Description
Job Summary:
St. John's Health, Lander, is a satellite clinic and the team represents the SJH brand in Fremont County. The Patient Scheduling Coordinator cares for patients in alignment with the core purpose, vision, and values of SJH. Providing the highest levels of care, quality, and service. Engages in efficient processing of assigned tasks and projects while providing an exceptional level of customer service for all customers. Performs administrative and clinical duties under the direction of clinic provider. Provides proficient time of service registrations and general patient financial services functions. Provides multiple patient financial services in the form of: timely and accurate patient registrations, existing patient data updates, payment collections, communication of insurance benefits, patient account management, and daily engagement in quality assurance and process accuracy and daily engagement in quality assurance and process accuracy. 

Essential Functions:
1. Registration
· Registers patients in a timely and effective manner, while maintaining a high level of attention to detail with the data entry. Must prioritize patient based on their medical needs and the stat of clinic capacity. Ensures appropriate paperwork and documentation is collected, completed and scanned, i.e. ID, insurance, consent, demographic forms, ROI, TOS receipts, discharge paperwork, Superbill and ER documentation. 
· Protects and ensures the confidentiality of patient information. Represents, facilitates and elevates team success within the Clinic. 
· Presents a confident and friendly demeanor when greeting and communicating with customers, as well as with colleagues and other stakeholders. Provides superior customer service, while meeting the needs of customers, to enhance communication and access to available services. 

2. Financial Services
· Collects patient balances, co-pay's, patient insurance obligations, provides basic explanations of benefits and some financial counseling to patients. Uses own judgment on providing discounts to patients per clinic policy. Educates patients on insurance coverage. 
· Scan insurance cards into patients chart, ensuring a high level of accuracy. Field billing questions and direct to appropriate resources. 
· Makes appropriate decisions regarding account write-offs and adjustments on a case by case basis and coordinates with billing.
· Daily financial tasks, including but not limited to, daily reports and bank deposits. 

3. Clinic Operations
· Works independently, to ensure smooth daily operations, and making decisions. Communicates effectively with a variety of stakeholders and works closely with Clinicians and leadership regarding daily operations and needs. 
· Is the go-to person for questions regarding front of house processes. Addresses issues and escalates to supervisor or manager when necessary. 
· Assists manager in coordinating with various vendors regarding oxygen supply, rug cleaning, and recycling pick up. 
· Responsible for ensuring office and dietary supplies are sufficiently stocked and orders when necessary. 
· Processes and follows up on prior authorizations for medications. 
· Processes incoming and outgoing referrals and follows up to ensure continuity of care.

Job Requirements:
Minimum Education:
Required 
High School Degree or GED equivalent.
Preferred Associates or Bachelor's Degree, medical terminology certification or proven knowledge of medical terminology, other relevant professional certifications: i.e. WFR, First Responder, CPR, Medical Assistant, First Aid, etc. 

Minimum Work Experience:
Required 
Must be able to read, write, and speak English fluently. Prior front desk, business office, or concierge experience in a hospital, medical office, dental office, or other healthcare environment. Computer experience necessary.
Preferred Prior Clinic or medical experience. 

Functional Demands:
Working Conditions: Normal office hours, Monday through Friday. Subject to irregular hours, meals and breaks. On-site position. Busy fast-paced healthcare office setting. Frequent interruptions and stressful situations. Contact with patients, coworkers, and community members under variety of circumstances. Occasional overtime may be required and/or hours may be shortened as business needs. Must be on-site at the Lander Clinic to fulfill the responsibilities of this role. 

Physical Requirements: Ability to push, pull, bend, reach. 60 to 70% of day sitting/standing at desk. High phone usage. 30 to 40% of day at computer. Intermittent standing, walking. Ability to lift 30 pounds.
